Pretty Darn Excited

I received my Fall 2011 issue of Stitch today and I have to say it really has me yearning for Fall. The projects in here are great-I already have about 6 projects that I want to get started on right away.....not good. Especially since I'm already toying with the idea of joining another quilt-a-long after learning about it from a customer today. Really no idea why I'm even considering it since I have no time....yeah I'll probably do it anyways.

Anyways back to Stitch-if you want to take a sneak peak, go over HERE and take a look at what's in the fall issue.

Felt isn't only for Winter Crafting

I've had it stuck in my head for awhile now that Felt is only really used in winter months...yeah I'm not really sure why...I think I just associate it with warmth I guess. Anyways I was re-reading Stitch magazine for the 11th time and I came across the Felt Pillow tutorial. I ran into the store and whipped this pillow up in no time-possibly might be having a beginner class with this one-anyone interested? It's a great way to utilize our woolfelt for home accessories.

Sidenote: sorry for the bad picture quality-our cameras gone missing, but I may have to hire my SIL to be my blog photographer-she may be deterred by the fact that our budget is small :)

Stitch

I finally got my hands on a copy of the Fall 2010 Stitch Magazine and I wish I would have picked it up earlier(as always!). There are so many great projects in there, even quite a few using 1 yard or less of fabric-perfect for the holidays. But what I was so excited about was the section on Modern Quilting and the bios of some modern quilters. I already follow Ashley Newcomb's blog Film in the Fridge, but have found a couple of others to follow as well-I guess you can never read too many blogs!

The project that I fell in love with right away was the Boy's Cozy Pullover-you don't really get a chance to see as many fun projects for boys but this one is great and looks pretty easy to conquer. Here's a link to it HERE. (well you have to join to actually get the pattern-but it's free so why not!)

Happy Sewing!
